Light & less dense rocks will feel unusually light. Pumice is a good example of a low density rock. It has tiny air pockets, making it light enough to float on water. Rocks that feel unusually heavy can have many layers of compression over time & contain dense minerals such as iron ore, sulfides or garnet.

We begin by determining the longest and widest points of each basin. Next, we measure the lowest and highest points on the sides, extending from the bottom to the top edge. This measurement procedure is repeated for the interior of the basin. On average, most basins have an outside measurement of approximately 15cm from top to bottom, with a tolerance of +/- 1cm. However, certain basins exhibit unique characteristics, resulting in side heights ranging from 11cm to 17cm.
