Our Story

Since 1988, I have travelled throughout Indonesia, immersing myself in its rich culture, remarkable landscapes, and welcoming communities. Along the way, I developed a genuine passion for beautifully handcrafted products made from natural stone.

Over the years, I have searched for exceptional bathroom, home, and outdoor pieces, including natural stone basins, boulder bathtubs, bathroom accessories, water features, garden statues, sculptures, and luxury décor for interior and exterior spaces.

At the heart of Stonebase is a love for natural materials, skilled craftsmanship, and the people behind every product. We are proud to support talented artisans, families, and local communities throughout Bali and greater Indonesia. Many of our pieces are shaped, carved, and finished by hand using traditional skills passed down through generations.

In today’s fast-moving world, it is easy to settle for mass-produced products made in large automated factories. We prefer a more personal approach. Each handcrafted piece carries its own natural character while helping support the livelihoods of individuals,  families, and their communities.

Stonebase began by offering these unique products to friends and family. As interest grew, we chose to focus entirely on natural stone. Today, Stonebase.co.nz supplies homeowners, renovators, interior designers, architects, luxury lodges, spas, landscapers, and commercial developments.

A significant part of our range is now produced in-house, giving us greater control over the materials, craftsmanship, finishing, and overall quality of every piece. This allows us to maintain high standards and ensure our customers receive products designed to be admired and enjoyed for years.

We understand that your home is likely to be one of the most important investments you will ever make. That is why we take quality seriously, from selecting the natural stone through to the final shaping, polishing, and finishing.

Our range includes solid stone boulder bathtubs, natural stone basins, bowls, bathroom accessories, water features, garden statues, sculptures, and an extensive collection of luxury stone décor for interiors, landscapes, and gardens.

To keep our pricing fair, we sell directly to the public online. Products can be collected from our Wigram warehouse in Christchurch, or freight can be arranged throughout New Zealand.
